The object of the challenge is to tell about your most inspiring dream. It sounded like a lot of fun, and there's a chance at prizes so I figured why not?

The most important dream I’ve had so far in my life was the dream that inspired my comic, Grey Eyes.
The day I had the dream, I actually wrote it down (at the time I was keeping a LiveJournal). So, I can take you all back to 2006, when I was just 16 years old. 16-year-old Misty said:

"I saw this picture of two men standing very close together. And then I saw a follow up picture of them kissing.
One had black hair, and the other one had blue hair, and he was an elf.
I have since decided to name the one black hair Mike, and the one with blue hair, Luke.
Mike seemed very surprised that they were kissing, while Luke seemed rather troubled— Like he needed that kiss.

When I woke up, I had to draw them. And I did. And what’s cool is, they look very much like they did in my dream ^o^

So, I’ve been formulating their story pretty much since I woke up.”

Seven years later I’m still working on their story (after several revisions false starts and scrapped attempts I’m finally almost done with the script! Just fine-tuning it at this point).
It was really a simple dream; just two pictures. But it was so vivid and powerful in my mind that it triggered a story. I’ve had far more interesting dreams, bizarre dreams, scary dreams, powerful dreams, etc. But the dream that started Grey Eyes is the most important to me. The most inspiring. GE is very close to my heart, and it’s all thanks to that dream.

I've tried to do this illustration several times in several different ways. I still don't think this is quite right (I doubt I will ever capture that dream), but I'm still very happy with it anyway. It's always fun to draw Luke and Mikey smooching~
