Description This is the SR-330AM used by the EDF. For all who don't know the AM stands for Anti-Material. This means that while the SR-330AM is perfectly capable at hitting flesh targets, it excels at destroying heavy stuff like punching through walls or armor. The SR-330AM is the second heavy sniper rifle to be used by the EDF, the first being the M-449 30 cal AM rifle, but is used more in the field because of its smaller bullpup design.
The actual ammunition is actually lighter as well. The SR-330 uses a custom round that as been dubbed the "60"cal bullet. It's a thicker, but shorter then a 50 BMG to fit in the smaller mag. In the field it has come to overpass the performance of the 50 cal. round, flying farther and faster. The SR-330AM's 60 cal round actually comes in to different types... There's the standard round that comes in Anti-personnel (Shredder Rounds), AR, and incendiary. Then there's the fin stabilized, discarding sabot round. This offers greater performance then the standard round but is used less due to the fact that the extra powder to make the shell go farther increases the width of the cartridge, which lowers the amount of rounds in the magazine (plus they're super expensive.)

Nobody has used gunpowder in guns since the mid to late nineteenth century. Nice design though

this looks great! Some really good parts use and blending, I like the carry handle.
be careful of your outlines, the perforations in the stock and bipod don't seem to have any, and maybe the thumb hole as well?

Thanks, yeah there are outlines but they shifted when i grouped the gun together.

60 cal bullet? that sounds like overkill, also why need incendiary for a 60 cal? o.o but nice sniper rifle design

thanks! it might be more of a 55cal... if i did a comparison of the 50 and the 60 cal there isn't much of a difference. as 4 the incendiary rounds, you cant go wrong with completely destroying a target while lighting it on fire at the same time!

i agree there nothing wrong with lighting up a target and setting it on fire, but the 55 cal will pass throught it cleanly so maybe the incendiary is meant for multiple targets?

That's not why the incendiary round exists. It's not really an incendiary weapon that lights stuff on fire. It explodes when it hits and burns very hot and goes out quickly. Incendiary ammo is used in fighters to quickly take down enemy aircraft, and by stuff like A-10s and light cannons to blow up light vehicles, where AP ammo would do a lot less damage.

john is right. there really isn't a type of ammo that works like a flaming arrow. even tracer rounds (which contain a small pyrotechnic charge in their base which allows the round to be visible as it travels) don't really catch things on fire

think of it as a flaming arrow and a sail of a ship... If you shoot the arrow at the sail, it may go though it, but it also lights the sail on fire. Plus, because it's an anti-material round it will be used to blow up gas tanks or light vehicles on fire.
