This fractal was 2 formulas and 3 lights with depth at about 50%
The light beams and sandstorm were added with Gimp 2.8

im surprised no one mentioned how similar this is to beksinski's work.
specifically, these two:
zoyart.files.wordpress.com/201…
hdscreen.me/walls/people/gothi…
i was impressed that, upon closer inspection, it's actually fractal art and not a digital painting. it's varied enough that it's not immediately noticeable, from the icon view at least...

This Is Awesome.Β  I wish I could get my Mandelbulbs to look so cleen and detailed.

The angle shot is superb and the sandstorm/light beam effect really give the piece a sense of imposing power.

I went to your page and was so impressed by your work. I think mine look flat compared to yours.
But try this the next time.
The first thing I do is to lower the Raystep Multiplier to 0.01 and the same with the stepwidth limiter and sometimes is low as 0.001
This will clean up the image quite a bit, but it will also make the rendering time quite long.
as far as the angle I will use the 3D Navigator for a long time before I find the right angle.
And last but probably most important is the lighting.....With so many choices on lighting its a matter of
tril and error. Plus When most of my work was done I was working only part time so I spent HOURS!!!!!!!
messing with the program. now Im back to work and haven't had much time to get back into it

HOPEFULLY SOOOOOOOOON!!!!

Thanks Again!

Thanks again.... I'm rendering a new one right now.
I'm going to try to make some ruins of some sort, then I'm going to put it on a grassy mound background
so it looks like it's been unearthed...you know half in half out of the grassy mound
