Description Tomorrow\'s ghosts take empty glasses
from empty tables
and disappear into the crowd.
Their tax returns come to zero
Their faces turn invisible beneath red light.
Tomorrow\'s ghosts never
give away their names
and would never
be picked from a line up.
They will be killed as collateral for
future sacrifices,
bodies buried in the name of
the soil that covers them.
Their fates swallowed
by the white noise of reality.
Tomorrow\'s ghosts approach markets
wreathed in explosives
wrapped in shrapnel.
By their hands,
wallets once lost are mailed back to owners
cash and cards intact.
The names of tomorrow\'s ghosts
fill entire phone books
in every country. They will stand
shoulder to shoulder
at peace rallies and football games.
They form rank and file
unconsciously.
Every face you cannot name,
every person ahead of you in the queue,
eveyy pedestrian you stop for
every driver you overtake.
You are lost amongst tomorrow\'s ghosts.

This is one of the more unique poems that I've read today. Where do you come up with the idea?

I was watching the crowd at a gig. The crowd was pretty packed out and one bar staff not only managed to glide right through tohe audience like they weren't there, no one actually acknowledged his presence as he collected glasses. He could have been doing anything, and it wouldn't have mattered, he just didn't seem to exist. So the poem started there and was sort of about how people who you don't directly interact with become dehumanised somehow but nevertheless effect the world one lives in.

This is quite odd. Or at least that's the impression I'm left with (even though it isn't really odd or weird, just interesting...)
ANYWAY. Well written, very interesting. I'll be thinking about it ^_^
