Description The clouds had pretty well chocked the sunset out by the time I made it to this spot after taking the last shot I uploaded. Same evening at the place I was originally headed to. Broke the ND400 out and made the best I could of the situation. Hope you enjoy.

yeah, but I couldn't resist Heading down to Gulf Shores tomorrow for a week - not sure if we're going through Steele or over through Atlanta, but if we do, I'll holla out the window as we're going through

WOW...and I am gonna be there in 2 weeks. I could show you soooooo many beautiful places to take shots! Well not in Gulf Shores....but about a 45 minute drive down the coast to Pensacola. You guys should certainly make the trip down there for all the old forts and things alone. If you like that kind of stuff.

Aww... Too bad we didn't have better timing! We have done a little of the sightseeing in past trips down there, and we may do some again... We'll see how it goes. I have a request for you - if you are ever out on your photographic journeys and come across some cool kudzu 'formations' I would LOVE to see you work your magic with them! I am fascinated by it... I think it looks so cool. My imagination goes wild with the shapes - lol. We are driving down as I am typing this (gotta love the iPad!) and my nose is glued to the window

I actually shot some kudzu YESTERDAY before reading this! LMAO! I have 2 shots I am dying to get that involve Kudzu but they are NOT going to be easy to get. One is gonna be down right dangerous. HAHA! We have a saying down here....kudzu and politicians are taking over the world! Yeah gotta love the Ipad! Was waiting on the 2 to come out but now I am looking more at the Motorola tablet. Hope you had a great birthday and that drive was kind to ya. WOW...Montana to Gulf Shores....sheesh thats a long haul! Have a great vacay! (Dont believe the internet.....gulf seafood is perfectly fine to eat. I have eaten a hundred times since the spill and nothing is wrong with me. LOL) Bay scallops should be in season to!!!

Haha - Kudzu on the brain day Well it sounds like a good challenge but BE CAREFUL!! It's a close race between politicians, kudzu and Lady Gaga

I grew up in MT, but we live in Virginia. Not quite as long a drive - lol - but still 17 hours! Not sure I would have picked the ipad if I had the choice, but since it was free through my husband's work, I will not complain one bit! It's actually very cool and it totally saved me from withdrawals on the trip About to make myself a Firefly sweet tea vodka (omg - TRY IT!) and lemonade and head down to the water.

I have been thinking the ENTIRE time you lived in MT. Mmmmmmmmmm.....that drink sounds divine!!! You will have to get me a recipe on it. Enjoy the sunset!

LOL - well that makes sense... it's the only place I ever talk about and I don't have VA on my FB profile either... all those stalkers out there, ya know

There really is not much of a recipe for it since it's a matter of taste, but I use a LOT of the Firefly and just a splash of lemonade. Sometimes no lemonade at all, just ice I went through a fifth by myself in one day

OOOH - cool - I am going to check them out! The question is.... which site to look on? LOL I have a lot to catch up on, still trying to recover from the trip

Yeah I am honestly sitting here drinking a glass of Milo's Sweet Tea as I type. HAHA! You would probably need to live down here to know what the deal is with the Milo's Sweet Tea. Its the best sweet tea on earth. I will make it a priority to find it now. LOL! Think you have seen them now that I have caught up on my stuff. The starfish shot and big pano. Guy throwing the net.

Pick, pick, pick, nag, nag, nag, gripe, gripe, gripe

There you have my un-expert totally off base critique

Now, I'll tell you that I like it quite a lot. I like the darker contrasts--the water looks like glass and the clouds are racing. Nice detail in this. Well done my friend

Thanks so much mate! Camera could of been a touch squarer with the pier but it was PRETTY dark. Had to manual focus this one. Kinda reminds me of that other shot I took awhile back to. [link] Way better cloud movement in that one though.

I honestly like the mood better in this one over the other. Probaby something to do with that sky as you said.
