I knew you'd be something about the new fire emblem game. I think it looks kinda cool, very harry potter esque. I really hope they make it super gay this time. That would be a major boost in the game's sales if there was tons of LGBT rep and done in a good, respectable manner.

But... I have a gut feeling it won't be. The Japanese sadly have always been slightly backward when it comes to their gay stuff. Sure, they have two whole genres of media dedicated to gay and lesbian love, but everyone finds it problematic, and they're just as prone to the bury ur gays trope as much as the west. But at least, there will always be shipping :3

True, but they also seem to be aware that it's something at least their Western fans want--they even went and put a couple bisexual characters in Fates, and while their writing was arguably problematic, they then went and wrote Leon in Shadows of Valentia--who is absolutely canonically gay and also really well written. Not to mention Forsyth and Python, who get unique endings if one of them is dead that follow a similar path of lover endings that change if one is dead. So it's not that far-fetched to imagine they might continue their streak and add a gay character to Three Houses~
