that strained voice, like a bridge over water made of twine
barely vibrating across the air as your warm breath hits my ear
i shudder
seeing you brush your hair from my face to yours as the bridge sways,
sounds melting into my own beating heart
my own dripping sweat
dropping with my heart as you tell me of this new love
his gentle words his lovely sighs

like a flashlight to a candle
in spite of yourself you laugh

as you turn to leave i scream
inside
