Yep, finaly I saw the aurora borealis, the northern lights. I managed to take photo of the remnants only as the aurora was quite short. Anyway I like it, although surrounding is rather bad and there is also some noise.Taken from roof of my house in Joensuu city, with Kit lens.

Amazing photo. Of course the aurora is beautiful, but I think the incredible greenness of the trees really makes for much of this photo's beauty

Yep, I edited a bit. Aurora was already weak, and I had enhance it a bit. I couldn't do much at all because of noise.
The only thing I don't like are light ofcourse :-/

How did it look to your eye? Was it better visible than on the pohoto or did you used the long exposure to make it more visible than the naked eye could do?

On photo it is much better than in reality! but this were remnants. The real aurora was bright as hell but very short :/

Nice job, it is hard to photograph rainbows and aurora borealis. I have not even seen one in years and it look like your remnants were better than anything I have seen. Your right the composition is noisy but this is a moment shot. Like I tell the photographers I work with you take the shot to get something and then look for a better shot until the moment is gone.
