Whelp, folks, it's been a good long while since I mentioned that I was planning on revamping Starswirl, but I finally got around to it a few days ago! For the first time in a long time, I feel like I finally have a better grasp on who Star is and what I've always wanted her to look and be like. Very excited to introduce to you all the new Starswirl! Have some info below!

Starswirl is the daughter of Princess Twilight Sparkle and Lord Scorpan, aptly named for their love and respect for the great wizard who had initially brought them together. Born a sphinx, much to the puzzlement of her parents, Star was nonetheless raised with much love by her family.

Outgoing and, admittedly, a bit of a scamp, Starswirl is a very active young teenager- preferring to tramp about the Everfree Forest and explore new locations instead of staying cooped up inside the castle, Star has a love for adventure in her heart. As the daughter of two of the most studious individuals in Equestria, Starswirl is also very well-read, and perhaps just a little too bright for her own good. Coupled with her wanderlust, there has been many a time where she's gotten into some trouble by her parents, either for staying out for too long on an outdoor expedition, or for her ill-conceived attempts at potion brewing or other magical affairs. Starswirl's own magic is very fickle, nearly non-existent, a fact that she is very self-conscious and insecure about, so she often tries to find other ways of casting some magic for situations that, perhaps, don't necessarily require it (like dying her mane a different color- an attempt that resulted in disaster, unfortunately).

Although confident with those closest to her, like her family and friends, Starswirl can be a bit timid in front of others. As the daughter of the Princess of Friendship, she feels the pressure of that legacy on her shoulders, and it often makes her stumble in front of strangers, as she fears they expect a lot from her. Added with her lack of great magical abilities, Starswirl is often prone to being socially awkward and reluctant to interact with new ponies because of these reasons, and has stuck to a small circle of friends to avoid further embarrassment from others. Introduced to one another when they were still very young , Starswirl's best friend is Moondancer's daughter, Cinnamon Swirl . The two are very close, like two peas in a pod, and often get into unintentional mischief when they're together, along with other general teenage girl shenanigans. Starswirl vents a lot to Cinna about her feelings for her mother, whom she sometimes has a bit of a rocky relationship with. Twilight has high expectations for Starswirl, and though she knows she only wants the best for her, Starswirl doesn't share the same enthusiasm for her goals, like becoming a princess. They often butt heads, and are both a little guilty of stubbornness when they try to resolve their issues, but overall, she still loves her mother very much, even if she feels inferior to her. By far the best parental relationship Starswirl has is with her father Scorpan, whom she idolizes. She's enchanted by his tales of the western kingdoms beyond the borders of Equestria, and could listen to him talk all day about his many travels around the world. If anyone contributed to her sense of adventure, it's Scorpan, and because of his tales, Star's biggest dream is to one day explore the kingdoms of Chimeron of the Undiscovered West. Overall, even if they sometimes struggle, Starswirl loves both her parents, including her pseudo older brother Spike, who she loves to hang out with when he has the time.

Aside from Cinnamon and her family, Star is also good friends with Asteria and Reggie , the children of Starlight and Sunburst. Though she doesn't get to see them too often since they live in the Crystal Empire, Star writes to them often and they visit one another from time to time. Star has gotten into plenty of trouble with Asteria and is completely oblivious to the massive crush Reg has on her, but all in all, they are all close friends. In Ponyville, Starswirl is friends with Quill Feather, the youngest child of Rainbow Dash and Quibble Pants, and who she has a massive crush on. They don't tend to hang out as often, since Quill tends to keep to himself, but they sometimes do go out on little adventures together now and again, leaving Star very awkward in his presence, though Quill seems oblivious to her feelings for him. Starswirl also enjoys a close relationship with Serenity , and sees her as a sort of older sister figure in her life, and enjoys spending time with her when she visits Canterlot from time to time. Serenity is very fond of Star, and she tries her best to guide Star into being in a more comfortable place about her princess-hood.

Starswirl also has a pet ferret named Pancake whom she loves to pieces- she and him get into mischief often, unfortunately, but they're the best of friends. Pan keeps Star company when she's not around her friends, since most of them live outside of Ponyville, and was originally adopted from Fluttershy's animal sanctuary when she was very young because of loneliness at the time. Pancake likes to sleep in her hair, and poor Star has had many a cat treat fall out of her mane on accident, much to her embarrassment! Still, Pancake and Starswirl are inseparable and are together nearly all of the time.

Phew, and that's that! I've actually had this done for a few days, but only just now got around to writing Star's new information. I hope you guys enjoy the new Star! Like I said earlier, it feels like I finally got her right, which I'm very happy about, hehe. There's still more stuff I want to explore with her, but that'll be for later pieces. In the meantime, I hope you guys like what I have to offer so far! Star is the main protagonist of Harmonyverse, so it was high-time I came up with a version of her I loved, heh. Enjoy, folks!

(Note: Although his name is Pancake, Pan is a nod to a fictional creature, more specifically a dæmon- Pantalaimon from The Golden Compass! Although Pan, in the book, settled into the form of a pine marten once Lyra turned 12, in the movie adaptation he was portrayed mostly as a ferret, which I always found super adorable, so here we are!  )
