Description I have this beautiful Gränsfors historical collection replica of a 10th century scandinavian bearded axe, but it came with a riveted sheath that looked much too modern.
Instead I made this simple sheath, patterned on the one I got with the axe, but simply strapped into place with cord, and hand stitched instead of riveted.
Veg. tan leather, with one thicker piece stitched in as an edge guard, then dyed and thoroughly oiled.

I am, and trying to be careful with it. Took six months to get it, due to the only smith that made it being on sick leave just then.

I think it looks fantastic however, and it is literally shaving sharp.

Well, at least you know that it isn't made in a factory production line, and the smith being sick shows this ever so clearly.

Quite. I was actually visiting their forge when I placed the order.

I always carry their small forest axe when I'm out.

The strap at the bottom gives it a nice feel

Thanks. It's attached to a loop on the other side. A simple rustic way to strap it in place.
