Ah, this was my first real Archviz scene to create. I made this back last October and boy did it teach me a lot about how Blender works. Not only that, but it opened up so many new doors and opportunities. There are definitely a lot of things that I would like to change about this scene. Overall, however, I'm happy the way it turned out, especially for my experience at the time. Artstation!

Thanks. The Blender compositor really helped with creating some cool effects with the lighting.

That's why I love the compositor! It's Blender's PhotoShop.

Ah, thanks man. To tell you the truth, that wood took forever get to look right. Lots of fumbling around with the node system. Now I think I've developed a pretty adequate node setup for dealing with wood thanks to this scene.

Gorgeous work on the lighting. It looks so realistic!

oh, Thanks man. The lighting is actually pretty primitive in this scene. It's just two or three emission planes if I remember correctly and a background emission color.

Goes to show a lighting set up does not need to be complex to give effective results.

Exquisite! The modeling, all that wood, and the lighting... But I do want to take a handful of those berries on the counter there!

Aw, thanks man. I'll admit, the wood was a pain to get looking decent. Especially the wood paneling on the walls. Thanks again.

I can imagine. You did well in keeping the texture from repeating. No prob.

Thank you!! Interiors are pretty challenging to render compared to exteriors. I guess I need some more practice

Did you ever try rendering ArchViz in Vray?
If so could you give me a basic breakdown of the benefits over Cycles. That'd be great!

DustinHodgesCG In reply to Kkhal [2016-04-25 20:01:47 +0000 UTC]

Ah, no. I've only rendered in cycles, mate. Here is a fantastic comparison , though, of how Cycles compares to other rendering engines, such as vray, Maxwell, and Luxrender. Cheers.
