I was thinking about how the scrappers have really distinct faces when I do them stylized or cartoony so I wanted to see how well it’d translate into a more realistic look. They’ve all settled with very vivid, real-world face inspirations so that helped a TON, these were all heavily referenced but it was still very fun to do! ;v;
I feel like the lighting is a bit inconsistent but I’ll...live and learn... _(:3｣∠)_
And for anyone curious, the face references are in the image captions!

Each of these are so beautiful, I love the lighting, I am melting over their expressions and I just - god i love these four and you did such a good job portraying each of them.

I absolutely adore Aedre. I love ALL of your characters but she has an undeniable soft spot in my heart because of how involved you let me be in her development. I actually think she's the first character you made when we were getting close and that just!! the first impression goes so deep and I'm so happy we've been able to get close through her and the other scrappers! :')

Finding models for my characters is a very slow process, I try to be as patient as possible with it!
I'm very interested in fashion so keeping up with fashion models is one of my first resources. I do the same with musicians too though, since you get a lot of people in the music world with less "avant garde" features . I don't use actors quite as often (since Hollywood is pretty limited in what kinds of people they look for) but I still keep an open mind to it when the right mood strikes

So over time, have Elliel and Naelia changed in terms of your drawing approach? I think you mentioned other celebrities as inspiration for their features in the past and it feels like their designs have evolved, but I can't really put my finger on it.

yes they've both changed quite a bit! We still use their previous face models for inspo, but generally the ones listed here seem to be creeping into their primary references
