Hungry? Have some BECK'S 8D.
First conceptual painting for my project (yet to be named) that took far longer than it should have. Two of the main characters are pictured in this painting. I will not tell any names yet, I'm still deciding on them.
BECK's happens to be the name of a private cafe in this project, with great burgers, sandwiches and coffee of course 8D (The house specials are usually weird though).
This is the same project as the District ( [link] ) sketch from my scrapbook.
The male character here is also the same person pictured there, though I'm not entirely happy with how I've portrayed him in this painting.
The female character is what we call a busker in Australia. I'm not sure if you guys use the same term in other countries, but basically it's people who perform for money on the streets, this girl plays the guitar. Please notice the hat with flower next to her, it is what she usually wears when not busking. The flower is meant to change by replacement everyday .
The reflection on window in this painting is clearly abstract (not really intentional), I was experimenting with this and also more saturated colours in watercolour.
Rough-medium textured watercolour paper worked nicely in some areas, but in terms of clarity of detail and lines it worked against me, smooth would probably have turned out more clear.
