Description I've said it before, in terms of DE's kde is really good imo. If I had to compare, for instance, workflow to others like xfce, cinnamon..gnome, myeah, they don't come close. For the simple fact of the ease of customization. I'm not talking gui stuff but the abilities to customize things in terms of..well..workflow. For example. Although other DE's, in particular their FM's have some custom abilities, they can't provide the total package, across the entire desktop that is. At some point I tried to achieve the same project both on kde as on gnome. And on gnome I always ended up "where the hell is this or that functionality" or "why can't I implement it in the fm" or anything of the likes. In that regard, dolphin alone is waaay ahead with the ability of advanced service menus and what not. That being said, I REALLY don't understand why those people insist of "inventing" stuff that 1) hardly anyone is interested in because third parties already did a better job at it 2) ignore stuff that's been on demand for a veeery long time 3) implement halfbaked stuff. Look, my dolphin is loaded with service menus, most which I made myself. Loaded. But the options to change the functionality of the kde app toolbars is.....meh.Sure, there are quite a few things you can add to it, but something like a customizable button has been demanded for yeeeears. Such a functionality could solve a lot of "issues". It could be some kind of csd. It could be a script. It could be a key emulate. It could be a bunch of stuff, but noooooo. Some buggie floating panel or a based-on-wallpaper highlight seems far more important. Hell, even Caja, pcmanfm-qt ( if I recall correctly) and sure as hell spacefm have that functionality. O well, as DE it's still very hard to beat (imho) and I guess the perfect one doesn't exist.
