My very first gouache piece. While rummaging through my art supplies, I found a little set I bought back in 2014 and never used . At first painting with an opaque medium felt weird but I'm grateful for that experience. I definitely want to experiment some more with my gouache in the near future

The colours are so popping! It's like you painted on a black surface - or a chalkboard - simply because it pops so much!
Of course the painting isnt perfect, but what a wonderful experiment and overall result! I really like it.. Well done. You've really tried to put a lot of detail in and that's awesome.

Thank you ! This painting was a learning experience for sure, I'm really happy that so many people seem to enjoy it. In retrospect I wish I had used better paper. I decided to try a different kind, and I had trouble with my paint lifting

Sometimes our artworks don't work out the way we envisioned.. and we feel a little downed by our results but it's always later on that we start to appreciate our progresses and not just our successes in art
And yes, lessons are learned!

True, I guess that the journey is its own reward. Even after a bad day, I don't think I would rather spend my time on doing anything else than painting.
