Final day for my Fishman Project. Probably not a fishman that a lot of people think about when think of Gillman inspired monsters. Or in this case.........alien. This is Admiral Akbar from Star Wars. The king of memes when they were just starting to appear on the internet. As a kid I thought Star Wars was ok....I mean it was no Godzilla to me. But I did love the wild cast of aliens that were in the movies. Well...........at least the earlier ones. Not opening that can of worms talking about the newer ones.
Anyhoo....I did 30 because tomorrow is Godzilla King of the Monsters! I am going to go see the movie and spend time with friends and enjoy life. Hence why I opted to make it only a 30 day challenge. I have extremely high hopes for the movie and plan on at least seeing it twice over the weekend. Got to give it that big shot in the arm on opening weekend guys!
Well, that's all I got to say about my Fishman project. I had a blast with it and hope that a few other people had fun with it too. I'm probably going to take a week or two off before I start drawing anything up that is kaiju related though. Reading the S-Squad series of books right now and I am hooked on them

Akbar is totally a fishman, his face reminds me of a bubble eyed goldfish I had as a kid lol. Gotta love Akbar, even if Disney & modern Lucas Films apparently didn't >_<
I like Star Wars too (the original trilogy & some of the cartoons), but not nearly as much as Godzilla and friends, the Big G will always be my number one fandom! I'm seeing the film tomorrow too, with my cousins, and I am BEYOND psyched for it, hope to see it multiple times in theaters. P.S. your 30 day challenge was great man, hope you do more like it in the future, was fun seeing you draw familiar fishy faces as well as see ones I'd never even heard of before, keep up the great work :3

Thanks. I had fun. If I do another one...I would probably choose another class of monsters. Werewolves, Bigfoots, Mutant humans, American aliens, there is a lot of stuff that could be done. But I think I would rather do something that is giant monster related since it seemed I have not done that in a while.

Given the recent release of Godzilla: King of the Monsters, how about trying your hand at a thirty day challenge of drawing kaiju/titans from the Monsterverse? You could draw the new incarnations of old faves like Godzilla, Rodan, Kong, Ghidorah, & Mothra, as well as giant beasties created exclusively for the Monsterverse such as the Muto, Skullcrawlers, Behemoth, etc. Just a thought

I'd have to see better images of the other monsters in the movie. But I would love to draw them. I always get drawn to the obscured more though.
