It's like she's saying, "There's no way I'm letting you cut down this tree."

Well, to be honest, it's a HORRIBLE adaptation of the book! All those pop-cultural references and adult humor kinda ruin the movie, especially seeing how it was supposed to be kid-friendly. It makesΒ The Grinch look like a safer film!
--
However, there are a few people out there who do like it just for the sake of the jokes they never got when they were younger. I myself like the movie because of the jokes that make it horrible! Mainly because I read the book before and know it inside and out, and I know that the movie just made changes to it just to extend the long-running time. I know the jokes didn't come from the book; this is just what Hollywood does to make the story appealing to both kids and adults: the Seuss style for kids and adult humor for, well, the adults. Which in turn makes the movie a mess. And that's why you will never see another live-action Dr. Seuss movie.
--
But like I said, I didn't mind because I knew the book before I saw the movie. I don't go by the movie's adaptation of the story. I just know that this is what movies at the time did to stuff based on cartoons and books. The jokes themselves were kinda hidden, so I never got them. Now that I'm older, I find them funnier! But if you're a kid repeating the stuff you see onscreen, that's bad news to parents. That's why smart(er) people don't like the movie.

However, if you just wanna see the jokes, they're pretty funny. Just don't expect it to be a "good film" because there are "funny" moments that don't tie in with the typical Seuss world.

I liked The Grinch, but they probably should have stopped there. Cat in the Hat just looks cheesey and tacky, with none of the stylistic cool of The Grinch. Lesson learned, Hollywood.

Yeah, I agree. I still liked it, though. The music is also something to be admired.

At least they're remaking the live-action Seuss movies in animation by the same team who made The Lorax. Maybe those could be better adaptations.

And, how! I guess there's a reason people laugh at them. Thanks.

Terradust, haven't seen her before.
Hippies: good for trees, annoying to everyone else.

Terradust is Stardust's cousin. She has a big silver headdress with green "hair" made from plant fibers. I've never drawn her.

I'm glad. I was feeling like doing a parody of something, and this popped into my head.
Thanks for the fave.

As another owner of a hippie chick character, I'm not surprised you'd like her.
