Description this took way longer than i thought...no matter what i did, something always prevented me from working on this for more than, like, maybe 20 minutes at a time, and by the time i was done, i was pretty sick of it. i like how it turned out though, it was lots of fun to play with my paints and my pencils together.


this is a merino ewe, by the way. she was very still and cooperative for the reference photo i took of her, so she was nice to work with...and fluffy..i got to pet her a bit.

Wow!!!!!! Texture is amazing...I could just reach through the screen and feel the wool.
Can you do (or have you already done) a tutorial on how the heck you get such amazing textures on fur/wool? Your is some of the best work I've ever seen in that department.

Sheep have been a childhood favorite of mine for as long as I can remember

And for you to catch the lighting, grace, and essence that is this picture of such an animal, is truly praiseworthy.

the face looks so life like, as if you just took a picture.
on the muzzle, its as if u can tell it should feel fuzzy.

ah! It's fantastical... the sheep are everywhere! They had them on the rugby pitch where I went to school... apprently they also had cows out there with them this year.

Oh I bet they can absorb quite a bit of those colors beings they are white, and I sure as hell bet that is was great fun doing that piece.

it's hard for me to see how the body is happening.. or maybe i just don't have a good enough imagination. either way tho, i love the face. and the way you used so many colors that aren't really "sheep colors". very nice!
