Description this one is for the Ultimate x men/ fantastic four crossover.

i know i dont normally post my actual published work. they dont seem to be as popular as my commissions. i think its becasue of the lack of grey scale.

there was a lot of pressure drawing this cover for serveral reasons. one of them being that its my very first marvel cover.

i was always told that when ever doing a team cover to always have a central figure to hold the whole thing together...and while i dont always follow this rule, i do think its right.

the coolest thing for me was that i got to design all these characters...and never in my youngin days did i ever think i would ever get to do. so that added a lil more sentamental value.

im a HUGE jim lee fan, and he always inspires my action stuff. funny though that not many ppl seem to notice.

sue storm is always hard to draw because she is so boring. i tried though. like adding wolverine like spikes that she made out of invisi shields. and that floating disc thing. believe it or not, i originally designed her with much smaller boobs and marvel told me to make them bigger. who'dathunkit?

it was quite challenging to draw that robot because its not easy to render and add shadow to metal..but i think theres enough going on there.

namor was the hardest cause im not so use to drawing guys. especially from the waist down.

if ever u wondered why guys like jim lee and silvestri are good, its cause of things like the extra fx/eye candy they add. like the energy lines on the rocks on the floor on my cover. makes for a more dynamic image. a trick from thier bag

This is awesome! I think Sue is boring too, but you really did manage to make her look cool, and Namor rocks! Great looking pencils, and I definitely see the Lee influence.

I went ahead and did some photoshop magic to re-enance your pencil scan back to full comic paper size and then inked it. Mostly so I could have a sample of my inks on other artist pencils.

I have it up now on my devart page here - [link] - just wanted you to know. It's a great piece.

I get what your saying...Sylvestri and Lee are faves of mine, but Lee's work seems a bit more "clean". I guess it depends upon the inker involved, but your work is on par with theirs, if I may say so! It is impressive to say the least!

I think the swirly Human Torch thing is my favourite part of this drawing. I just like how it's jagged yet swirls around. Very powerful.

And yes. The extra oomph you put into this piece with the extra energy lines does give it some tabasco to a salami sandwich.

tabasco...u're funny...

the fire is the eye candy part od this image..and it helps to tie the whole thing together

This is great.
you should post more of your published stuff. I, for one, love seeing pencils before inkers and colourist get to them. I think the pencils on their own are wonderful and helps give a better idea of the work put in by you before the art is transformed with slick inks and computer colours.

Oh and I'm a huge Jim Lee fan too. There are loads of us. we should really start a cult . . . . I mean club or something. haha

Yup, you really nailed it! Love the energy. I can see the Silvestri/ Jim Lee influence in your work but your style is so individual... I can spot an Ebas cover a mile off cause the chicks are always super hot and there's usually tons of action.

Keep up the good work, man.
