Description Well, this is obviously still a sketch, no-nada yet.

I drew this a few days ago while watching J.I. Jane. The connection?
well, I dunno.. hehe.

I'm thinking of coloring this and upload it as a fantasy deviation..

I'm still dead lazy so.. I guess that thought will have to wait a while..
Oh jeez.. hehe.

Are you familiar with Alphonse Mucha's work?

This reminds me of it - he was an 'art nouveau' artist, who often produced images of ladie, with stylish (and often rather complicated) background designs. This is, in many ways, like that. Your work seems a bit more, three-dimensional, though. He did a lot of pamflets for theartes and the such, if I recall correctly, and those had to rely on the colour's shading for depth.

alphonse mucha, just searched him up at the engines, and, whoa, he's a very very good artist..

now that you've mentioned it, i have to second that.. this deviation seem similar to his works indeed. wow, i was taken aback actually, when i saw his works.. a new artist added to my fave's list! harharharhar..

i'm working on still-life and fantasy styles nowadays, trying to get away from anime-ish and cartoonic styles for a change. a task that proves to be difficult for me. that's why i was able to do this one.

it's a booster to read comments such as yours. it really increases my esteem to do better. so, thanx pal!

thanx for the info [about mucha] as well.

ROck on!

Still-life and fantasy is way harder than catoon/anime.

Whatever realism attempts I make, the general lines stay too much like comic book style, and the eyes always scream 'anime'.

Nothing to be done about it, I suppose...

Try everything once... and keep on doing the things you like.
