Description Overview over the town of Banff up from Sulphur Mountain. Most people take the Gondola up but we decided to hike - doesn't feel quite right to take the Gondola up the peak in my mind. But whatever, it was way to expensive anyways (62 CA$ iirc). 20 minutes later there was a snow storm rolling over Banff. You can see the first parts of it to the far left. You basically couldn't see a thing anymore. It got very windy and snow up here, too.

Location: Sulphur Mountain, Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada

Damn, it's so nice to hear from you again! I visited my page this morning before work and saw your comment by chance (I usually don't visit deviantart before after work). It brought a big smile to my face! It's too bad it didn't work out in 2018 but I'm sure there will be another chance in the future and I appreciate your offer.

As for the picture: I'm really happy you enjoy it so much. It's an older one from 2017. Time flies... I have been back in Germany for more than a year now. I haven't traveled in quite a while and I'm missing the wild nature in NA. It's funny but I think you are pretty lucky to live in a spot like that.^^

Fantastic view and well captured
Very happy to see it from you !
I have never gone up there either
Like you say it is way to expensive
and did not have enough time for the hike!

It's quite busy up there, even though you don't meet a lot of people on the trail. It really reminded me of the Brocken (highest mountain in northern Germany). On the trail you meet just few a people, even in summer, but on the top there are hundreds of people, school classes, buses full of seniors etc. because most people drive up by bus, train or car... It feels so weird. You drive up, see the view, go for coffee and cake and then drive back down. o.O

Thats a shame really, I agree with you there

Uh they can drive up the Brocken. They can't drive up Sulphur Mountain but with the gondola. I just wanted to say it felt similar in the way that almost nobody was hiking up and most people would take the easy way.

Glad you like it!

Unrelated but I wanted to ask you: Lately all my submissions to the Beautiful Wilderness group have expired. I tried to ask in the group chat but nobody answered. Do you know what's up with that? The only pictures that come through in this groups seem to be yours, which is probably because you are co-founder and your pictures don't need to be accepted.

Thanks for l ting me know. I've written to the founder as she usually runs the group. I'm only here for back up when she's away. She hasn't said anything so I was unaware. I'll sort it out.
