Every time I use the art history brush?
It just makes it one huge blended mess.
I know it's my fault but I just can't figure out what is wrong with this art history brush?

Great action, but I don't understand how to use the soft brush to get the details back.

it's real easy. on the history window, check the box next to 'curves' and then using the art history brush, draw over whatever details you want to keep sharp. you might need to do a little unsharp mask too when you're all done

it's real easy. just download it (on the side bar next to the preview) and load it into your photoshop actions.
