Rickie was sitting at a table at Idle Cove in the Festival Plaza waiting for Amira to get on. His fingers tapped impatiently on the table as he wondered where she was, she texted him she would be on soon. Just as he was about to text her he suddenly saw her familiar face.
“You have kept me waiting.”, Rickie said.
“Sorry, had to wait for father to finish a phone call to tell him the excuse.” Amira told him.
“.... Yeah, that makes sense.”, his eyes shifted at the mention of their father.
Amira took a seat at the table, pulling out a poke ball from her bag. “Here she is.”
Rickie gave her a smile and took the poke ball. “Thank you for looking after her, I’m glad I can have her back.” Rickie tossed the poke ball up in the air and then popped out a Cyndaquil.
“Amy!” Rickie shouted with glee, holding the little fire mouse. Amy let out some happy squeaks to see Rickie again.
“I told Mother and Father a friend of mine always wanted a Cyndaquil, just like you told me to.”
“And I take it they bought that?”
“Yep, though I doubt they would have even noticed she went missing, they don’t really know what’s going on in my life most of the time….” Amira explained.
Rickie looked at Amira with a bit of worry, knowing their parents never really paid much attention to her. Rickie wrapped his arm around her shoulder, “You did great Amira, thank you.
“Huh?! H-hey! Don’t go hugging me like that!” she complained.
Rickie let out a laugh and let her go, “I’m surprised they let you keep her, I thought they would have gotten rid of her.”
“I knew you would want to get her back somehow so I begged Mother if I could keep her. Father wasn’t happy one bit but allowed it.” Amira explained.
Rickie scratched Amy on the head, and a frown appeared on his face. This was his first Pokemon he ever officially owned since Cookie and Rover aren't really his. She helped him get his first two badges in Johto, but after they won the Hive Badge some cops found him in the Pokemon Center he was at. He was able to escape them by hiding in Ilex Forest, but Amy was still resting at the center due to the gym battle. They took her and brought her to his family.
Rickie let out a sigh, “Well while we are here why don’t we go get something to eat and you can tell me what you've been up to?”, he asked with a big smile.
“Sure, there's this really cute cafe I want to check out.”, she replied, her face lighting up.
“Right then, ONWARD TO THE CAFE!” Rickie exclaimed while pointing out his arm with Amy letting out another happy squeak, much to Amira’s annoyance. The three got up from the table and headed off.
