So to make up for yesterday's farce, here is a proper Sumai

Albeit a younger Sumai than how he's normally portrayed - a warrior in his prime. ...because I couldn't resist drawing the overly pretty flowing mane. I really couldn't xP

This is a study piece in several ways - "brush" inking, marker shading and a test for my brand new scanner. (Yus, I own a printer/scanner finally - I am sooo happy! 8D) Unfortunately the ink doesn't work well with the markers, as it smudges quite badly, even after drying for 24 hours... See paws, muzzle and elbow. Really very disappointing, so I'll have to find myself another ink pen I think. I am quite pleased with a lot of the marker shading though, considering I've never really tried it before and there was much experimenting involved

And having both a new scanner and a new monitor makes it difficult to tell how true this looks to the original, so I hope it doesn't show up too bad on your screens. But, hopefully having a scanner at my disposal will encourage more traditional art now!
