Though her cold and indifferent exterior makes her seem unapproachable, cruel, or shy, she's not. Azumi simply doesn't like taking the initiative in talking to other people. If you were to enter in a conversation with her, you might be surprised to learn that she's not shy-- she'll actually feel extremely comfortable while talking to you unlessyou'regross. Though she was once easily influenced, nowadays she's independent and rarely changes her mind once it's set.
Though independent, Azu has a low esteem (though she'll try not to show it) and is extremely self-conscious of the way she looks. It's not uncommon to see her fixing her hair or makeup during school. But with others, she's fairly low maintenance. Her indifferent expression makes her seem emotionless, but actually, just give her a friendship bracelet or something and watch as she blows up with excitement. A listener, she prefers to listen to others rather than tell about her boring, plain life.

Growing up as the only child with a working mother and father, Azumi had gotten used to being alone in the large house that she called home. Her parents were often tired after work and had little time for her besides on the weekend, but she didn't mind. Though she lacked the normal childhood experience, growing away from her parents allowed for her to grow up independently and closer to the few friends that she made. Even now, she lacks the bond with her parents that most teenagers have, but after her father was laid off a year ago, her bond with him is slowly increasing.

Her first few years in primary school were rough-- being alone led her to try too hard to make every friend that she could. She was easily influenced and often talked badly behind the backs of some of her so called 'friends' in order to befriend a select few. Wrong move. She had fallen into the wrong group of friends.

After the group of friends she made in primary school drifted from her, she found herself alone once more. It was different than being in that house all alone-- here, there were actually other people. It wasn't until her second year in middle school that she was able to befriend a small group of friends that she actually clicked with and grew extremely close with. trivia |
