once upon a time in 2018 i tried to draw the girls as furries but i have since thrown all of that out the window for THESE
i'm rlly proud of these!!! i put a lot of thought into the species for everyone. yuri's is my favorite, her face came out so pretty

- monika is a hybrid; reeves muntjac x red fox
people tend to make her into a fox, which i vibed with a lot, but for whatever reason in my heart monika has always been a Hooved Animal. so i just combined them. who's gonna stop me, the police?

- sayori is a havanese dog
what can i say she is just a fluffy little doggie this is fact

- natsuki is a fairy possum ("leadbeater's possum")
i can't really explain this one. it feels incredibly specific? but when i started brainstorming for these it came to mind instantly and i couldn't shake it. something about this itty bitty, critically endangered possum Speaks to me

- yuri is a pine marten
yuri's was the hardest for me to come up with. the default interpretations seem to be a cat or raccoon. i didn't vibe with a raccoon but i liked the idea of a "vermin" animal, so i ended up on a trail of researching badgers, and then minks, and then mustelids in general until i saw a pine marten and my brain turned on the alarm
