Blue from the sky will get into the shadows on the earth, which will probably only make them very desaturated in any case. I think I understand what you were going for and the essence of what you captured that makes you like this one, but I feel like the colors in most of your work is actually better than here. Sorry for being frank. I'm glad to see you posting still.

I tried going for a different kind of color palette with this painting because I was starting to notice a pattern of green grass and gray rocks in most of my paintings. I know what you mean about the shadows and I actually experimented with adding more blue-ish shadows but couldn't make it work. I thought it made the ground look too cold and I wanted to preserve the feeling of warmth that it had. That, or I was just too tired and couldn't bother with doing the shadows all over again. But I think I'll give it another shot to see if I could make it better!
Thanks for the feedback. I don't mind it as long as it's coming from someone who knows what they're talking about. Really like the colors you got going on in your paintings, by the way. You've gotten way ahead of me.
