That was sort of the point of this series. Seemingly normal people caught up in magical situations. Tim's manticore was far less threatening and much more foppish.

Eh... I find the patient, methodical, and above all frighteningly identifiable (he's mostly just a dude who looks at the world and says "that doesn't make sense"... who hasn't done that?) to be much more threatening than any kind of dumb beast. However, that's just me.
Yeah, I got that, I was just saying... well, I don't know what I was saying, but I found someone who's read Books of Magic, and that's always good.
