Sheva at the Summer Equestrian Festival , in the Performance Test Halter.Well, I tried out something a little more realistic, the beginning of my more realistic shading era. I thought I did alright: its incredibly messy at this stage but hopefully I'll get better at it. Don't ask me to do rabicano realistically though; it is beyond me
Want to get her to Finest, since she really deserves it and is so close at the moment. Our first mare at Willowglen, and I really don't give her gorgeousness enough attention. Go have her babies everyone!

She looks quite good β the one thing that looks most out of place is her hooves and muzzle. With the rest of it looking so realistic, the fact that her muzzle and hooves are stark black is a little off-putting. I'd say add more grey to both of them (and look at the shape of actual healthy hooves, too, since they're hard to get right). Also, about the rabicano βit will look more realistic if it follows the sweep of her stomach.
Other than that, well done! Me gusto.

If you made the rabicano curve with her belly it would look more realistic then the straight lines, maybe put it under the shadow layer so it also has the shading/highlights aswell : ) All of your amazing pictures are totally convincing me to buy SAI though, I need to save up some money!

I actually have it under a mask so there is shadow and highlights there, the area is just too small to actually see them

Doing black is good fun though. Different colours don't really bother me. I take a somewhat haphazard approach to this stuff, I don't have any one 'technique' that i use. I just play around until I'm happy
