Description Matthew 26:36-46
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, "Sit here while I go over there and pray." 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, "My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me." 39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will." 40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. "Could you men not keep watch with me for one hour?" he asked Peter. 41 "Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak." 42 He went away a second time and prayed, "My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done." 43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing. 45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, "Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour is near, and the Son of Man is betrayed into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise, let us go! Here comes my betrayer!"

Gosh darnit! Someone spiked the wine with Nyquil! Lol. I love how you have Jesus praying next to those flowers in the moonlight. It has a sense of calmness despite the situation that is about to unfurl.

This is only one of great examples that shows Jesus loved us.
He was willing to die and He even prayed for us that night.
That's true love.
Don't you think?

This is an amazing drawing, so much detailing and the background looks fantastic as well. You have a gorgeous style and you are glorifying God in a fantastic way. Fantastic perspective and once again this is a drawing that fits well with the song I am listening to [link] Really beautiful drawing just outstanding.

Fully God and fully human...this is a very difficult and gutwrenching part. He knows his mission, and he knows how it will all end, but it's still a very ominous and frightening undertaking (his sweat became blood - an extreme reaction to stress). He's betrayed by his best friends, and is walking straight to inevitable death. And even knowig that, he still places complete trust in God, and is willing to do what the Father wishes. That's strength, to be sure. It moves me to tears, this entire story.

That part of scripture is pretty tear jerking, because Jesus is practically begging. Also he becomes so upset he sweats blood.

What strikes me the most in this one is that even though Jesus is facing his impending death with obedience, the white lilies forshadow his triumphal resurrection - the most important part of this event for believers, without which Jesus' death would be meaningless.

there is so much emotion in this picture and the verse bellow just strengthens it, we went through this verse in my youth group not to long ago, seeing how jesus was so emotionally drawn that he fell to the ground and asked if there was any other way he'd do it. But he'd do god's will, I love how you personalized this scene.

Such expression and emotion. You really convey that particular scene wonderfully.

- I've been looking through your gallery and have really appreciated the way you display the Bible. I've had difficulties trying to picture the different scenes [because I'm such a visual person], but you help me see them so much. It gives the Bible a little more color then the black and white words I only see and read. Maybe these will even inspire me to read the Bible more [sadly to say, I've been lacking in that area and am ashamed to say so].
Thank you so much and I look forward to more of your works.

Thank you...

And thank you for your honesty. And so... how's the Bible reading going?

I have a personal rule. No read, no feed. No Bible, no belly. If I have time to feed my physical self, I definitely have time to feed my spiritual self. One is definitely going to outlive the other, and I want it to be in the best shape it can be.

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

It's going pretty good. I'm starting to do this Bible study on the internet and it's really great so far. I'm actually enjoying it!

And that is an awesome rule. It makes so much sense as well. Thanks for sharing it!

Blessings.

I really love this piece. You captured it all in, it even feels a bit sleepy. (it is a disciple fallen asleep right? And not the Lord Himself?)

The colours and the composition, eyelines all is great!
