– You see anything?
   – .... No... Nothing, let's go!
   Two men were running along the side of a street in a city, ravaged by war. One could see from distance that these guys had seen a lot of action, but were still up for a real fight, if you could see them from a distance at all! They were running along the side of a building on a street to avoid being seen.
   – Where now? One of them whispered.
   – I dunno, Ryans... the other one replied. I think they've already been here!
   – Where's the next rendezvous-point?
   One of them took out a small area-map. They ran into an alley and sat down for a minute of rest.
   – Ok, Brigand, Ryans said. Let's check that map of yours!
   – Well, according to this... the other guy said, pointing towards the end of the alley. There should be a convoy-route just past that market-square. If we can make it there, we can then run by that road up to a nearby rally-point!
   – What if it's deserted? Ryans asked, strapping his boots as they came undone. I mean, what if something made it there, before us?
   – Hey, it's still up! I guarantee it!
   – You sure?
   – As sure as my name is Brigand Steel! Let's go!
   Ryans and Steel ran up to the end of the alley, and checked the market place.
   – All empty... Ryans said. Oh, how I just HATE wide open places!
   – See that crashed market-stall? Steel said, pointing at a pile of crashed wood. That's our first stop! Go, I'll cover you!
   Ryans ran out to the market-stall, and looked around. There was no one around. He turned around to call out for Steel to follow him, but he never even let out a whimper... On top of the roofs and alley where Steel was kneeling sat a beast, bigger than anything Ryans had ever seen! With it's GIGANTIC wings, claws, head and teeth, it looked like a dragon with no back-legs, but just even scarier, and a dozen times bigger!
   – Ryans? Steel called out in a low voice. Ryans, what's wrong with you?
   Ryans just sat there petrified, as he saw how the beast was staring at him, right in his eyes. He could see in its huge eyes, that he was trespassing. And trespassers were to be eaten!
   – Ryans, what the hell are you doing? Steel called out in a higher tone of voice. Ryans, answer me! What're you doing???
   And then, suddenly the beast took off with big powerful flaps. Ryans just stood there, eyes and mouth wide open, just staring at the beast, that was circling a bit around him 100 feet high with extreme speed. And suddenly, it launched downwards, straight towards Ryans. That was when Ryans instincts took over, and he shook away his fear and confusement. He lunged to the side, just as the beast was about to grab him with it's mouth, and then he started firing as hell towards it, while still laying on the ground as the beast flew up sky-high again.
   – Whaaaatt theeeee HELL was that I just saw??? Steel asked himself all dumbfounded, just staring at the beast Ryans was firing at with big eyes and mouth wide open.
   – STEEL! Ryans cried out as he saw the beast was coming in on him again, for another attempt of snatching him with it. TAKE IT DOWN!
   Steel quickly came to, popped in a 40mm anti-tank -grenade into the grenade-barrel of his gun and ran out a bit on the market place to get a better aim. He kneeled down, took aim and was just about to fire...
   – Catch this, motherfucker! Steel said, as he moved his finger up on the trigger.
   The grenade flew in a neat line, straight towards the creature, but it never hit! The creature saw it coming and dodged it, quicker than flash, and flew up to the skies again.
   – RYANS! Steel cried out, firing out a smoke-grenade near Ryans. Get over here, now!
   Ryans got up, and started running towards Steel and the alley. But the creature wasn't giving up that easily! It could perfectly see the two men, trying to make a run for it, through the smoke! It kept flying high above, to see where they were headed next.
   – The car! Ryans said, pointing at a slightly damaged 4-wheel-drive jeep.
   Steel jumped into the drivers seat while Ryans took the passenger-side, and stuck out his head.
   – Hey... Where'd it go?
   – As if I care! Steel said as he hotwired the car. Time to get our asses out of here!
   They started speeding off. Ryans was hanging halfway out through the window, looking out where that creature had disappeared.
   – Holy shit, Ryans suddenly said. STEEL! STEP ON IT! IT'S ON OUR TAIL!
   Steel started driving as fast as the car would go as Ryans started firing at the creature, coming at them from behind. It was ways faster than their car. Ryans popped in a grenade into his rifle, and still kept firing at its head, trying to stop it from reaching them. But when it got real close, he quickly fired the grenade at it. The creature dodged it and disappeared in between some skyscrapers, demolishing some of them.
   – Where'd it go? Ryans asked, aiming at every direction. Where'd it go??!!
   – HOOOLY FUCKIN' SHIT!!!! Steel suddenly cried out and braked as hard as he could. IT'S RIGHT IN FRONT OF US!!!
   The creature had flown around a couple of blocks and was now coming at them from straight ahead, jaws wide open, about to snatch the car as a single big mouthful, along with a huge piece of the road! Steel spinned the car around and pressed the gas again.
   – I'm SO not going to end up as some damn lizard-food! Steel muttered while he tried to maintain control of the car as he steered towards an old, abandoned shopping centre.
   Ryans shot one clean shot, straight in the eye of the creature, yet it didn't seem to stop it from coming at them. The creature missed them by a handful of inches, as Steel drove them into the shopping centre.
   – Y'know, Steel, Ryans said. This is the last friggin' time I'm EVER riding with you again!
   – Right... Steel said as he stopped the car. Get out. There are some subway-systems running through, right below this building.
   – Didn't we bomb this part of the city quite much? Ryans asked as he stepped out, spotting an enormous shadow fly by some windows.
   – Exactly. We bombed every large structure, and this shopping centre is quite a big one! So, with any luck, we drilled a bomb straight through into the subway-systems!
   The two started running in the shopping centre, and it didn't take them long for finding the huge hole in the roof! It lead straight down, through all floors, into the ground, where they could see some tunnel-systems underneath the city.
   – Jackpot... Ryans said. Let's go... We'll call in air-support when we have the opportunity for that creature out there!
   – Oh, you mean THAT creature??? Steel suddenly cried, pointing up towards the hole in the roof.
   And there it was again. The huge head of the creature was looking down through the enormous hole in the roof. It had one of its 4 eyes shot out, thanks to Ryans.
   – Ummm... Ryans studdered. How about if we step on it?
   – Agreed! Steel said, as they both jumped into the hole in the floor, just as the creature crushed the whole building, trying to reach the two men with it's jaws.
   They ran for a bit in under the tunnel before Steel dropped his pack.
   – Detonation-charge! Steel said. Run your ass off!
   The explosion tore the roof-structure of that part of the tunnel apart, collapsing it all, hiding Ryans and Steel in darkness.
   – So, Ryans said, switching on his night-vision -goggles. Let's get out of here, shall we?
   – Yea... Steel said. Let's do that!
