doel is a little village at the banks of the river Schelde near Antwerpen in Belgium. and it is like a ghost town because they plan to expand Antwerpen port right here. so only resisters are staying, who live in like only one out of ten or twenty houses. all the rest is empty and kind of scary. i didn't know before, came there accidentally as i thought that the port of Antwerpen might be an interesting place for shooting ...
and the thing in the background is a nuclesr power plant to straighten up the story ....

genau, manno, das ist es ja eben. dieses ganze dorf (doel) soll dem kraftwerk und der hafenerweiterung von antwerpen zum opfer fallen. das ist ein echtes geisterdorf - der reine zufall der mich damals dahin gefΓΌhrt hat ...
