Illustration on an envelope (a little bigger than a C6 size) for fellow Postcrosser 'Papabear' from the USA who loves bears!Because it was his 61st birthday last July I had this fun idea of decorating the plain envelope I sent him (filled with some great postcards of course) with a Happy Birthday Bear!
He also loves his pet Gerbils so I had one of them balancing on the bear's partyhat, sprinkling some confetti.

This was such a fun little project, because I felt so inspired by his interests, but also because I was sure he would be so surprised to find this in his letterbox. The “voorpret” (the happy anticipation) is always a big part of the joy you try to share with others. (^_^)

Oh yes for sure! "Voorpret"... I never heard that word before; but describes perfectly what I get out of suggesting DD's, when they are accepted; as well as gift giving at Christmas time!

It can be difficult to explain words that don't exist in a different language. You could literally translate it as "before fun", but that sounds really silly. I'm glad you understand my clumsy explanation and I can imagine it's exactly that feeling when you suggest a DD that will surprise a fellow Deviant.
