This is my last drawing for my class but I wanted to make it something I could use for this year's family Christmas card. This was an actual still life. The angel is a fiber optic table piece but her wiring isn't working so she wasn't lit. I have been wanting to draw my angel for some time but I was intimidated by the lace and fur but I felt confident enough to try it this time and I am well pleased. The colors in the iridescent ornaments didn't quite come through as strong but you can see some of the green and pinks added if you look hard enough.
Please forgive the weird light thing going on. I think it is kinda neat but that is from the camera. I plan on posting another drawing for Christmas but if I don't get it in time, Merry Christmas!

This is really beautiful. <3 I love the soft colors and how everything sort of melts together. It's a very light drawing, so not much stands out, but it makes it seem very--pardon the cliche--angelic; as if she's against a bright light. Great job with the folding of the fabric and its shading (something I am horrible at) as well as those stunning wings. It really does look like it could take off at any moment.

Thank you! The very fine and light hand technique was chose on purpose for the angelic effect so I am glad that came across. I am actually quite terrible at fabric so I kinda winged it. (there is some kind of pun in there... I think)

You did a good job with this one! The detail brought out by the subtle coloring in the shadows is quite beautiful. I wish your angel had more of a smile, though, but other than that, it's wonderful. I'm glad you made it into a Christmas card - it's perfect for one. ^.^

Thanks! Well, my angel doesn't have much of a smile. It is more of a passionate look. I think that is the word I am looking for. If it was up to me, I would have turned her into a realistic looking angel rather than a tree topper. But alas, it had to be graded.

Great job on the highlights- it's so striking even though most of it is white! The dress is so well done, but I gotta say, the wings are my favorite.
