i liked you work in this pack, showed a lot of emotino comming from your part. I think many people can interpret them differently, but i saw a lot of dark oriented pieces, were the main object is submerged into the bg. I know the pack was a sort of dark theme, but I enjoyed it all. nice work here and as of all of them, congrats on another pack to dC, and keep up the good work.

new pixel stretching technique You said? - i wonder what's good this effect puts to the image, but looks damn nice though. I love the dirtyness - it always give some strong feeling.

solid, I take it this is best viewed in a dark room. Tight

Gotta love the sort of 'rusty' feeling.. sweet stuff man

digitalshock [2005-08-16 02:22:44 +0000 UTC]

Quality is bad in some parts, and the render is really jaggy. I understand the feel you were going for though, but I feel it can also have been improved with some subtle details.

Anyways, this is overall sweet. But there were other images in the release that really owned too.

render is intentionlly jaggy - new pixel stretching technique.

have another look...

New pixel stretching technique or not, i don't think the jaggyness gives it justice. Its a cool technique, but i think you implimented it better on other pieces.

I'm not saying its a bad piece, its cool, but that's just my 2 cents.

Its okay to compare. Its okay to discuss. Its even okay to say you Hate/Love something.

However, Art peices arent meant to be judged in comparison to the quality or concept or composition of previous peices. there are no boundaries until people start issuing boundaries. When a new peice is initially presented it should be viewed at with a centered focus blocking out everything else. Critiques should be made from within the given peice. not based on previous or future peices. Its senseless.

Artworks are each all individual on their own, and come from individual emotions. Now if the artists intent is to try to IMPROVE a previous style and mentions it and that is the purpose of the peice, that is a whole different story.

I just find it rather silly and superfluous to tell someone the quality of a future peice doesnt match up to a previous peice, when that doesnt nec mean that was the intent of the artist.

I guess not everyone is that Deep.

ANYWAY Justin i think this is a great peice, and the title chosen is perfect for the composition. The colours really show a cold and desolate feeling overwhelming a warmth that is slowly but surely going to fade away.

I've been saying that since forever. Glad to finally see someone on the same wavelength.

I guess the same can be said about how we view/interpret this piece; I looked at the image and said to myself "This piece seems tragic. It's looks like mistletoe without the white berries, and what's left are the leaves and base, enduring until the final hour. Sorta like a lit candle in flickering in the wind; All of this even before seeing the title of the piece.
