So, in common, the Set contains 31 brush sub-tools
- "I've worked to learn how to draw realistic fur quite a lot of time. And I can be proud that I'm reached this goal.
To simplify matters, I created a series of brushes for myself, and I've decided to share them with you.
I'm sure, you'll appreciate the assistance that they will bring you to the work!"
Sincerely yours, Eldar
You'll receive the ZIP archive with:- 31 SUT files (Clip Studio Paint sub tool files) in a separated directory;
- PDF with tips and instructions on how to install the brushes into your software.
- JPG with all the brushes table. Sometimes it may be just convenient to have it on hand.
Some tips for using the brushes:- As you know, there's a number of basic shading technics in painting and drawing, and I like this one as the most appropriate for me — I find it one of the most rational by painting the fur — to start coloring with a neutral, halftone local color, then shade it according to the volume and lighting, then add layers of the fur with colors a bit lighter than underlying shading.
- Start with a general neutral local fur color a tone or two darker, and paint the shape and shading with any brush or brushes more convenient to model such volumes.
- After, as usual, it may be needed to make some areas deeper (darker) — for example, shaded areas deeply among strands near their roots — or set some light and highlight accents in the lights.
- Try to experiment also with the layer or brush blending modes, such as Soft Light, Screen, Multiply, etc.
- As in painting or drawing at all, I'd recommend proceeding from common, main shapes to partial ones and details: firstly, specify the main big volume, lights, and darks, then put non-detailed fur strands using matching brushes and then make the detailing with detailed fur brushes.
- In the end, I'd add some the sharpest strands or hairs, maybe blur or darken some of the underlying strands, light up some of most visible, highlighted. Try to make some of them softer of sharper, darker or lighter in the finish or work, kind of post-processing. Add some highlights, specular. Use the "Shining Tips" brushes from the set. The separated hair can be drawn by regular textured thin brushes.
- Switch on "Lock sub tool do not save change" (see the picture below) for each brush preset (sub-tool) if you want to reset the brush after changing the settings, etc. I'd recommend turning it on, excepting the cases when you adjust the brush for yourself.
- Each brush has a slight Color variability to make the fur more picturesque and realistic. It linked to the pen pressure: the more pressure the more secondary color (the color from the backward, second square) randomly adds to the main color.

Hi! I would like to buy this set, but when I clicked on the Buy via PAYLOADZ (using PayPal), it sent me to a page saying "There is a problem with this account. Use the form below to notify the seller of this issue." and there's 2 fields where I can type in my email address and comments.
I only have Paypal. What do I do?

Ohh I didn't know the other link gives you an option for Paypal. Cool thank you
Edit: Hm weird. It's only giving me two options: to pay with my bank account or credit card. It isn't giving me an option to use my Paypal balance on Paypal. >_>;;

So far, the brushes work fine, but I lack the understanding of how to use color and painting techniques. I don't know the workflow of how you make the kitty girl in leather.
I tried to approach it with the same way you did with the furry ball in your video of tool demonstration, but it doesn't look right when I paint it like that on limbs and torso for some reason. Which brushes do you use for wide fur use, then which ones do you switch to for smaller details? I tried shading with different colors but it seems too strong at times, and sometimes it blend too much so it turns kinda brownish
Do you change the opacity of the brushes? I tried it a few times but it loses the ability to blend well, and I couldn't get a nice layering effect.
Do you start coloring her as a neutral orange color, then shade, then add layers of lighter fur? Or do you go about it totally different?
Maybe I should take a few classes in painting. >_>;

Hi,
Thank you for your questions — it seems, I should make a tutorial video. I planned to make it, but still working on the movie about work with Perfect Oils sets.
Regarding your questions, perhaps the Tablets may havea bit various pressure settings, it may affect on how it works with current brushes. May be it make sense if you'll try to find more convenient these Brushs' pressure settings (Opacity, Flow) and save them as an options. Moreover I noticed that different artists prefer different pressure settings: say, some like when the Tablet pen works as pencil or charcoal and requires to press the pen quite strong, some love more painting-like sences while working, with light pressure. May be the point is here.
>Do you start coloring her as a neutral orange color, then shade, then add layers of lighter fur? Or do you go about it totally different?
As usual. But this is not a dogma: there's a number of basic shading technics in painting and drawing, and just this one is most appropriated for me. But in case of painting fur I find it one of most rational. You can try firstly place basic shading with simple brush, hard or soft (as you can see in the video with demonstration), and then put the fur strands above, according to the form and lighting. As in painting or drawing at all, I'd recommend to proceed from common, main shapes to partial ones and details: firstly specify the main big volume, lights and darks, then put non-detailed fur strands using matching brushes, and then make the detalization with detailed fur brushes. In the end I'd add some the most sharp strands or hair, may be blur or darken some of underlaying strands, light up some of mostly visible, highlighted. Try to make some of them softer of sharper, darker or lighter in the finish or work, kinda post-processing. Add some highlights, specular.
Feel free to ask me, I'll try to help.

Thank you for your opinion. I was sure they can help artists in their creativity like these brushes help me in mine. Anyway, working on new versions I'll keep in mind all the mistakes or weaknesses to prevent any omissions.

Definitely going to buy this, soon as I figure out how to sync brushes over onto an iPad! Do you have a tutorial on how you do the fur with these brushes at all?

Hello. Honestly I didn't tested them on Ipad and mobile devices. Here may be some unexpected aspects, related to pressure sensitivity. But I have an idea, please give me a day or two, I'm going to create free test set with 2-3 brushes, you can test it on your devices. And if everything's OK, purchase the full one.

So I bought this and I'm actually really unhappy with my purchase. I work on smaller canvases and lowering the brush sisze makes it look like how it's not suppose to look. I tried upping my canvas all the way to 5000 pixels and my drawing is still too small for the brushes to detail into it. I use clip studio paint.

Hello, Ash,
Could you please describe which effect you'd like to get and what you get in fact. I'll try to help. There are brushes with various detalisation and sharpness, size. Sure this problem can be solved by correction of using each brush. If you can also add some screenshots, it would be fine, please.

Hi there!
I just purchased this brush set via PAYLOADZ, the paypal account I used is nodjiin@gmail.com (you should see the transaction already). However, I either "missed" the instant download button (if there was one? I suspect my poor Internet connection didn't load it...) or, I just didn't receive any email with the download link. Please get back to me asap ;;

Hi and sorry for long response,
Sadly it happens with Payloadz, by some reason more often than earlier. Yes, I see your transaction. Now I'm going to send the archive from my email directly. Sorry for making you wait.
Hope everything will be fine and this set will serve you well in your creativity!
