I really appreciate the change in the angle of Megamind's head. It's subtle but makes a world of difference. This one and another (not from Frozen series) are two of my favs.

Yes, sometimes it looks right on the concept, but I always find myself changing stuff, sometimes a lot, while other parts stay more or less exactly like on the concept drawing.
Out of curiosity: Which other picture do you mean?

This is another fav. I like how you changed MM's hands here although for some reason I really liked the original color sketch's shading?/coloring? very much.

As far as changing things, writing works like that for me too. When I make notes or plot and then start to write, the details often evolve - sometimes a little and sometimes a lot. Sometimes not just details but whole story lines! I suppose it's just part of the creative process. The learning that never ends. I always hope the changes are positive but sometimes I wonder. There's a quick, raw energy in the first rendering of something - art or writing I think - that can be lost when you mess with a thing too much.

Ah yes, and I totally understand. The digital colouring is very smooth and almost cartoon like. It was more an experiment, but the wrong hand was giving me a headache - well, most of my pictures do today.

I have no experience with writing, but I can imagine hat the actual creative process is very similar. You need a good idea, a "picture in your head", a draft and hen lots of refining and adding details. At least that's how I'd imagine it.

There was a time when I considered trying, but it would have to be in one of my native languages... And who would even read that? So I prefer to focus on drawing instead. No language issues.

Yes, for me writing begins very much with a picture in my head. One or a series of mental images, often so vivid that I wish mightily for the ability to draw or paint (or the time to develop those talents although there's hardly time enough now to work on writing) and put it down that way instead of trying to use words. Having to describe with words is often... frustration defined. Headaches abound, yes. Words carry so many connotations and subtleties, often personal. I use a thesaurus but wading through the choices is like choosing from among a palette I suppose. Sometimes there are too many choices and sometimes not enough. And I can imagine creating visual art is much like that too.

Your grasp of English appears to be excellent. No worries there. But talk about headaches from the subtleties of language! Translation and cultural differences and... I don't blame you for choosing to work in visual arts instead. An international language. Just one frame can be an entire story in itself. And I think that's what people love about it. One look, one dense bite, and you have the whole thing in your mouth to savor all at once. And although your work might give you headaches, you can be assured it's nothing but a pleasure for the rest of us.

There are days my work gives me fits too. Things that looked so right suddenly seem all wrong and I wonder, "Why would I (or did I) ever let anyone read this?" Ah well. Somehow, I still can't seem to give it up!
