In the olden days, before little sisters began complaining that they wanted costumes (seen here- [link] , [link] ), there was THIS blue elf gown.I made this for myself in 2002, being a LotR dork. It also works nicely for medieval costuming, and is used as the base dress under my bodices. It's simple, it's comfy, and has lasted quite nicely over the years.
That said, I now have two dresses of similar color and style in my closet, so if anyone wants to start a matching elf parade, let me know

What did you make this of? And also did you use a template? I'm getting a sewing machine in August in the hopes of making my own elf dress, but I have no idea where to get templetes or fabric and everthing. Please tell me!

Thanks! It's a polyester knit of some kind, which is why it drapes as well as it does.
