Backstory/Information:
In the beginning of the Elementist Series (My Fan Series), Mordred was actually known as the evil being known as “Darkness” who took over the Ice Element. However, before that happened, Mordred had a hard time growing up in a family of mages. After Merlinnus split up with Morgana and took both Merlin and Mordred to raise on his own, Mordred struggled with wizardry. He couldn’t understand how his sibling, Merlin, could cast spells so easily. Over the years, it frustrated Mordred to the point where he blamed his father for pushing him over the limit.
Then one night, Mordred snuck out of their home with Merlinnus’ forbidden spell book, hoping something in there would give him answers as to explain why he couldn’t be a mage like the rest of his family. All he could do was create charms at his age. That was the one skill his perfect mage sibling could never achieve. That night he vanished, he coincidentally met with his mother, who claimed that Merlinnus took off with their offsprings. She tells Mordred that she’s been searching for a long time, and claims that she could very well make Mordred a powerful mage.
But what Mordred didn’t know was that Morgana actually charmed him to force him to kill his own father, Merlinnus. As a reward, Morgana grants Mordred his own powerful staff that allows him to cast spells like a real mage. Then over time, Morgana persuades her son to gather these special rings known as the Elementist Guardian Rings, each with its own Main Element: Water, Fire, Air, Nature, Earth, and Ice. Legends say that each ring has the power to make someone an Elementist. A being who can control the Main Elements. He manages to control and conquer one Element: Ice for almost a decade before Blitz and his younger sister, Snow, reach out for help. This is when they meet Sonic & Friends, and thanks to the blue hedgehog, Mordred - known as “Darkness” - was defeated.
Although with all villains, Mordred keeps coming back. Mordred/Darkness would do anything to make himself the most powerful mage in the world, including stealing the powers of the Main Elements. He succeeded and indeed became an Elementist himself for a short period of time. But thanks to Sonic, and with the help of the Elementist Guardians themselves, they defeated Darkness once more, but this time stripping his powers until he was back to a normal non-mage hedgehog…
After some time passed, Sonic & Friends were meanwhile helping out their Alternates in an Alternate World of their own. When they figured out a way to construct a portal to help them travel between dimensions, Mordred/Darkness sneaks into the Alternate Dimension after overhearing the gang mentioning that the “Darkness” in the Alternate Dimension was actually an evil version of Merlinnus. He wanted to learn from him since he was successful in taking over most of all the Main Elements in the Alternate World. Alternate Darkness rejects Mordred’s plea of working with the evil mage, and insteads poisons and uses Mordred to attack Alternate Jack Frost’s Icehogs cowering on the mythical being’s island.
Sonic & Friends recapture Mordred/Darkness once the attack of the island ended, and with the help of Mordred’s Alternate Version, they discover that the regular Mordred was actually under a spell for years, making him evil. Once they cured Mordred of the spell, Mordred honestly had vague memories of what he’s done in the past and present. He’s done so much damage when he was evil, everyone, including Sonic & Friends, were conflicted on the idea of Mordred turning over a new leaf. Mordred was doubtful, himself, of the idea as well. He preferred to be locked up and left alone for all the harm he’s done, but his Alternate Version urges him to at least try to do some good.
With help from Princess Snowflake mainly, Mordred learns that his charm making skills actually classified him as a Charm Sorcerer. A rare type of being with magical crafting powers. He trains with some assistance with Snowflake, and an immortal Charm Enchantress named, Lady Luna, after accepting her offer as becoming her apprentice. Lady Luna educates Mordred on what true skills and powers he was born with, and she also informs him that he has the capability of creating a rare powerful charm called Hazel’s Heart. A charm that can only be created by turning a dark heart into one that is kind and harmonious to others. It contains the power to protect and forewarn the user of other charms or spell effects.
Personality:
Mordred had low self-esteem as a child. He gets frustrated easily if something doesn’t go his way. After being freed from his mother’s spell, Mordred was irritable and slightly sarcastic when in a conversation, but over time, with the help of Snowflake, his mood began to change, especially towards the princess. He was considerate and kind towards her since she was the only person who had some trust in him despite what he had done to her and her family. “He has a heart, just has a hard time showing it,” as Snow would say.
