Description
This is a bit old, a year ago I suppose, but I really loved this art a lot. This is part of my four-picture series of "Seasons", depicting a royal deity in charge of different seasons.

"Winter" had been the most significant and perhaps, the "main" character with a more emotional back story. I've developed his quite for a long time, in year 2007 to be exact. It was all started when I want to write a story about him, and his characters started to develop when I rp'd with some friends.

However, as the years goes by, his character changed from the original intention (ruthless, quite arrogant and really cold) into a sympathetic character who actually regards life yet still maintain a cold composure.

The reason why I made him sympathetic is simple: in almost all of the culture, especially Greek, Winter is depicted as the season of death. Everything, if not, all the entire living natural beings have a higher chance to die before they were reborn again in Spring. This character, taking from his personification, knows that everything that he touches would freeze to death. Also, his back story involves him unable to save the girl that he dearly loves.

I probably planning to make a series of drawings/painting about these seasons. If I have time, I will upload a lot more of the other seasons.

I also have a pre-concept picture of "Winter" somewhere in dA. But I won't tell on which account until January 2012.
