what exactly is his claw digging into?

Sekiseishi In reply to graphicsurge [2013-04-27 03:06:41 +0000 UTC]
Her back. She isn't arched against the tiger as many people are apparently perceiving. Her back is straight, so his claws are able to dig into it.
Also, this is a lovely piece with infinite interpretations. I love things like this, especially when there is no explanation. The viewer should be able to make his or her own interpretation with every piece of art and that is exactly what this does.

no there is a curve of flesh that ENDS at his claw it visually doeasntmake sense.
And thats the problem with your belief in things being open to interpretation, they still need to be structurally sensible.
I agree that a SUBJECT and composition can benefit from ambiguity, but the technical aspect must be done carefully.

Wow... you could draw one for each predator like that, a woman with a lion, wolf, bear, wolverine, eagle, orca, shark, lycaon, polar bear... would be awesome ^^

This reminded me of Kelsey from Tigers curse, except for the color of the tiger. Very beautifully done and I like the addition of blood to show the pain in passion.
