this took embarrasingly long, i won't even admit exactly how long. paul mcgann is incredibly difficult to draw - his face is all soft curves, not a single sharp angle or anything. i'm still not quite satisfied with it, but i don't think it's going to get much better.Related content

Yessss. Though admittedly I've never seen McGann's Doctor, I've been a huge fan of his ever since seeing Withnail & I. Personally, I think you captured his likeness incredibly well.

Thank you! He is incredibly difficult to draw, I think I've never spent such a long time on a simple portrait. Except for the other McGann portrait, that is.
Don't worry, the Doctor Who movie is really quite bad, although McGann does make a great Doctor. I prefer Withnail & I as well. And some of his other stuff. I seem to be the only person who genuinely enjoyed Lesbian Vampire Killers, for example

I think it's charming that Richard E. Grant also played the doctor briefly. I imagine him stumbling from the TARDIS into some mud and exclaiming, "It feels like a Sycorax shat in my head".
Lesbian Vampire Killers? Oh, dear. How did THAT one slip by me? Netflix queue, here I come.

Man I really can't stop staring at your picture. What I love most about McGann as the Doctor is that he looks like such an edwardian romantic. His voice coupled with his appearance is very serene. And I really feel that you've captured that here in this picture. If I could, I'd get a print of this
