Hello Eleween ~ This is a comment for the taggame of The tag I got was ''Cute''
I actually picked this one because I adore whales :'D and I find them cute haha :')
The first thing I noticed on this piece is the lovely color scheme <3Β
The colors has a kind of of magical and and perhaps a dreamlike feel to it. Β I love the details of the smal fish and the bubbles on the whales. This piece also gives me a sense of movement because of the composition of the whales and the detailed sky which has lines that kind of give a sense of direction. This makes your piece very lively and fun to look at. Great job on this <3
As for some critique, I have a few points that could use some improvement.
First off I'd like to mention the water, I don't think the water is bad, it actually looks appealing to me but on the surface it just doesn't really look like water. The surface of the water actually looks like a flat landscape now, it would work if it looked less matt. A bit of reflection of the landscape you've drawn and a bit of highlights in the water should work to give it a more watery look. An indication of waves would work too to make it look more like water..Β
I understand that you probably wanted to go for ''silent water'' but because there's this part where the whale actually goes into the water it doesn't make sense to keep the water without waves around the area where the whale goes into the water. Silent water actually still have a bit of ''waves'' in the water.Β
I see you've tried to shade the water with highlights and a bit of indication of waves though but the soft yellow could be a bit brighter to make it look more like an actual shiny highlight.Β
The other point I'd like to mention are the bubbles around the whales, they actually look more like sparkles, I have to admit I love this effect but you should've tried to to make them look more like real bubbles to make it look more like they are actually under the water, it would be a good idea to look a bit more at references of real bubbles. Because of the sparkly look it doesn't look like the whales are under the water. I think it would also work if the whales had a bit of more of the color tone like the water on them to make them merge more with the water. Just like the background fishes.
The silhouettes of the bigger background fishes are a nice touch but they could use a bit more detail in their silhouette because now they kind of look a bit too sloppy and it's somewhat hard to see that they are actually fish.
Sorry for the wall of text, even though I wrote a lot of text on the ''critique'' part I still think you did a great job on this <3 it's a very lovely piece Β and I can see you put a lot of effort in it~ so keep up the great work!
