I thought I would enter "Draw this again contest". Just for fun and to see how much I have improved during the years.Witch of Roses was a piece I did 2008. I think I was around 17 years old when I did this. Still one of my strongest drawings back then. Rest was crap kind of...
The new one is almost made by the same medium as the old. I used Pastel pencils in the new one that's the only difference.

That's really neat. You have improved a lot, especially the coloring technique is a lot better in the 2nd one, I admit there are a few things i like better in the first one, for example the way the roses frame the character, I like that composition in the first one better but other than that great improvement. Keep it up!

Yeah I kind of agree to that. I wanted to do something different in the 2nd one that was a little art nouveau inspired. Since the character has a lot of details already I wanted to stay simple in the front. Yet again it doesn't frame the character like you said.

I like the older one better XD It's just my opinion :3 (shes cuter with big eyes) X3 but the coloring is better in the second

No of course not it's your opinion I respect that.
Even though she is cuter in the older version she doesn't capture the feeling of pain or sadness. I find realistic looking style to be more stronger when it comes to emotions but that's what I think...
