Entry for ' 3 Way Contest - [link]

The contest basically involves doing your own rendition of characters from the anime series Iga no Kabamaru aka Ninja Boy Kabamaru. I am not familiar w/ the series (just knew about it through the contest) so it was quite difficult to think up of a proper rendition.

So..hmm...for the character/1st contest, I chose to draw the main female character/main boy's love interest, Ookubo Mai, instead. I only had a headshot for reference so her appearance is not accurate. Anyway, I thought it'd be interesting to draw her in modern day Japanese school girl uniform and put her in pink Converse (because converse is timeless!)... And I updated her hairstyle too. Since she does belong to a ninja themed series, I added in the scarf w/ shuriken designs just so she somehow matches w/ the theme. Oh & yes she has a shuriken keychain too XD

Colors: Faber Castell color pencils
Japanese characters: added in using photoshop

*I'm sorry if the colors don't look too good. It looks way better in real life ...my scanner officially sucks!!!
