Description
Recently I managed to visit Guy Tillim's "Second Nature" exhibition in Amsterdam. I loved how this artist photographs nature - in a less constrained way - and it's stuck with me.
He isn't interesting in focusing on one single detail/element in a photograph. A big part of how we experience photography is centered around finding "what the photo" is about - once we find it, we move on. Guy Tillim makes you explore the whole photograph, get immersed in it. It really transports you to a new place, makes you lose sense of your immediate surroundings.
I wish I could put it into words, because it communicates so much and that one day I can manage to engage people with my photography like Guy Tillim does.
