Funny thing that happened today, one of my chickens got stuck somehow with a bow made of straw, so she was obviously more fashionable than the others.(I had to remove tho, but it was cute while it lasted)

Well, I keep my word so! chicken story:
I read a book called The Boy Crisis and their was a part talking about adopted kids. His neighbor was telling a story of how his duck laid an egg but somehow ended up dying. A chicken in his fold took the baby duck under her wing and raised it as if it were her own chick. There came a day when the baby duck went to the pond and took a dip in the water and learned to swim. All the while the mama chicken was cawing her head off and going frantic since she didn't know what to do and apparently chickens don't swim. Sadly the story was interrupted. The author's adopted daughter said she felt like the baby duck, and the point being there's always some disconnect with an adoption. I don't know exactly what became of the chicken, but it was fascinating to hear.

then she understood the duck would be okay on the water and such
