Thank you! I am still surprised how different it looks when it's lit vs. unlit.

Elly, you are brilliant.Β When I first saw the image, I thought you had made a reversible sea urchin, but lo, you did even more!Β No doubt a full-size lantern version would be too much work/beads, but one does wonder!Β It is beautiful, and it's shocking how much the light changes the beads' color.

Thank you! I had wanted to make something to be lit for the longest time, and when I had done a bracelet (the Ultraviolet) that had spines and a curved shape the idea of a sea urchin wasn't too far off. I usually don't put a lot of transparent beads into my pieces (they usually change color so much when worn patterns can become unpredictable), but this time I gathered all the ones I had together and it worked out really well and made for a cool gradient - lit or not. Thanks to LED lights staying cold it's no problem lighting this little critter. The light bulbs from years ago would have probably set the nylon threads on fire eventually! I guess one could go bigger - the spines give the bead matrix quite a bit of stiffness.

Thank you! This one was a blast. I don't often use transparent beads, but now I know exactly what to do with the ones I've got left...

Hey, not bad! Discovering geometric beadwork definitely has been a fun revelation and really got me back into beading, which I love!
How are things with you?
