Description Heather takes the recently clipped Banksy for a hack to the village and back. Normally Banks has his feet clipped completely but as it's getting colder Abigail has let him keep a bit of fluff for warmth. They're not alone however, Lisa's somewhere in front trying to stop Kerry from nibbling the ivy.

----------
I drew this the other day after coming home from college absolutely FREEZING. We haven't had any snow yet but there've been some pretty chilly frosts in the morning so I thought it would make for a nice picture. Besides, it gave me an excuse to draw a clipped out coblet. XD
---------

Original drawn on paper, then scanned and coloured in photoshop.

Heh, thanks! I can't wait to draw more wintery scenes with lots of fuzzy ponies.

The clipping looks amazing! I love how you got the markings just the right shade that they'd be after just being clipped, that's super difficult to do.

His face is so cute, like, seriously.

I love the colors here; you did a great job communicating the feel of a cold, snowless day.

Cobs = adorableness.

Thanks! We had a tiny flurry of snow here the other day but no proper falls yet so it was easy enough to imagine, lol.

This is amazing, maybe my favourite of the whole new batch. I love that he's clipped, and that you've made the hairy parts have scruffy edges, while the clipped bits are paler, it's perfect! As is the tree on the left, and the roadsigns, and the pose

Yeah, I think this is one of my very favourite drawings I've done recently!
I actually made up the roadsigns on the computer and printed them out on glossy photo paper so I can stick them to card and use them in photostories! (and I'm sad enough that I tracked down the actual font they use for UK signs and used all the right symbols for places to visit)

awee this is so cute!

I Must ask though, how do you get that grain over your images?
It looks really cool, especially on your linart. I was just wondering if you draw it traditional and then colour it digital or if its just a texture overlay?

ElreniaGreenleaf In reply to Episkeeyy [2013-12-02 15:20:51 +0000 UTC]

Both! I draw the lines on paper then scan and colour it digitally. The grain effect is an overlay of a photo of some sandstone of all things! XD

Aaah no way! thats so cool x)
Ive never understood how its possible to colour traditional lines digitally x) do you make it on a brush and put it on a sepearte layer, for example? c:

ElreniaGreenleaf In reply to Episkeeyy [2013-12-02 16:31:26 +0000 UTC]

It's not as hard as you'd think! I make sure my lines are all clear and join up perfectly before I scan then use the curves tool to tweak the brightness/contrast so the background is as clean as possible. These days I use the magic wand tool to select everything outside the lines which I then erase. I set the layer to 'multiply' and can start colouring underneath.

I did this to show someone ages ago. XD

Ooh, this is so sweet! I love the clipped fur. And Heather's gloves. I want those gloves. Very nice background, too, I really like those trees.

Haha, yes, I want them too! In the one of David and Tam at sunset I used a pair of my own gloves for David, although his have fingers which mine lack after I cut them off so I could wear them and use my phone at the same time. XD

Ahahah, I know all about the pain of trying to use a phone with gloves, so I can understand your motives. XD
