At last, a drawing of Elrenia that actually looks half decent!

For those not in the know, I've been attempting to write a fantasy novel for the last ten years (argh, that sounds so scary when I put it like that!) with very little success. The plot and characters have changed hugely over the years and it's only recently that I've really made any progess on that front. The main character (whose name I adopted as my username for just about everything when I first went online and can't bring myself to change! lol) Elrenia hasn't changed much at all in all the years I've known her - quick to anger, impulsive, often rather aloof but essentially just wanting to be close to people.

Her mount, Kelpie (whose name I love but want to change the spelling of as they don't have Kelpies on Arden...) however really has changed! To begin with he was a native type pony but is now a Vaskal; the 'type' of which I've finalised in this picture.

I've tried to draw them together for ages but it was only last week after two all-nighters that this drawing came about. I more or less finished it in a matter of days but spent the last few nights finishing it off. I'm not entirely sure why she's wearing sandals to be honest, normally she wears boots so I can only imagine that she wanted to go for a paddle in the river. Tiny hands are tiny too. >.<
Here's hoping this means I can do some more characters soon!
